The good thing about being single is that you can do whatever you want around the house without the fear of looking like a fool. Before I filled my whirlpool bathtub with comfortably hot water and lavendar bath oil, I put on some Duran Duran on my CD player and danced excitedly along to "Rio" while in various stages of undress. It was incredibly hokey but also very liberating. Afterwards, I decided that any kind of distraction should be eliminated and took the proper steps to achieve this. First, I turned off the lights and then went to turn off the house phone and cell phone. I figured that if anyone needed to contact me within that time, they could always call me back. I then lit some of my pumpkin-scented candles to place all around on the deck. I winded down and slipped into my new bathtub with no reservations whatsoever. This time was to be my time–no exceptions. I turned on the jets with the dual silent air controls, rest my head on the pillow and waited to transcend to my ultimate place of zen.
My body hasn’t stopped thanking me since then. I am considerably calmer and more relaxed than I was this whole week. Thanks to the beauty of my new bath tub (and to Simply Bathtubs!) I have decided that I need to take a bubble bath hiatus from the world at least once a week.
