The Perfect Christmas Gift for Grandma was a Walk In Bath Tub

November 20th, 2008

I was in charge of finding the Christmas gift for my grandma from all of her grandchildren this year. We are strong believers in one large gift as opposed to several small ones. I tried asking her for a hint at what she might want but I could come up with absolutely nothing. Instead of growing frustrated, I started researching the latest products for elderly individuals. That was when I discovered the walk in bath tub. I was so excited! My grandma had been complaining that is was more and more difficult to move around lately and I did not want to worry about her slipping when she took her evening bath. The walk in bath tub was the perfect solution.

She has always loved acrylic bathtubs, so this purchase was even easier to make. I searched for walk in bath tubs made out of acrylic and I found the perfect one with jet massage on simplybathtubs.com. The discounted price was fantastic and there were no delivery costs for her walk in whirlpool tub. It was installed easily and my grandma was absolutely thrilled. She said it was the best Christmas present she had received in years. My brother Matt is next on the list to find grandma’s Christmas present; he has quite a bit to live up to next year!

Everyone feels stressed at some point during the day. Most of us might be rushed in the morning because the alarm clock did not go off or a parking spot was impossible to find.  We arrive at work frazzled and grumpy. The rest of the day is just more of a chore. Meetings, messages, and annoying bosses. It almost feels impossible to catch a break! Then you remember your saving grace: a jetted walk in bathtub waiting for you at home!

Upgrading to Step In Bathtubs

October 16th, 2008

There are quite a few things people complain about when they grow older. Your day-to-day activities and routines become more difficult to complete, certain tasks take more time, and you grow tired more quickly. Most people think the process sounds awful, but I do not! I would not trade my tired old bones for young ones any day. There are so many wonderful aspects about growing older, such as infinite wisdom, that I would not give up for anything. Besides, you just have to have the right attitude. When my husband and I no longer felt safe using our old style footed bathtub, we decided it was time to upgrade to step in bathtubs.

Many of our friends have upgraded to step in bathtubs and they love them. These walk-in tubs are not very expensive either! The best thing about having infinite wisdom is that learning how to use the internet was not very difficult. I just went onto simplybathtubs.com and searched their wide selection of step in bathtubs. I found one that would fit in our bathroom in no time and I saved so much money by ordering off this site. Now we have a great walk-in bathtub that we use everyday!

Bathing in the Glow of my Copper Bathtub

October 16th, 2008

I love shiny things. I am easily distracted by something catching the light off in the distance, which can be slightly dangerous if I happen to be driving at the moment. However, that point is irrelevant because I really wanted to talk to you about my new copper bathtub. The beautiful bronze glow just lights up the room and gives me so many inspirational ideas for work. This purchase was by far one of the best I have ever made and not only because my copper bathtub looks great in my bathroom, but because I got it for an amazing discounted price!

I knew my old bathtub needed a change. It was cracked and chipped and I could no longer stand the sight of it. I really wanted something that would make the room pop! I clicked on simplybathtubs.com and there it was, right in front of me. My new copper free standing bathtub! Finding a new bathtub could not have been easier and this free-standing tub was perfect.  If you need to liven up your bathroom I recommend that you start shopping right away. You will not regret it!

Modern Bathtubs Versus Antique Bathtubs

October 16th, 2008

So you are doing a bathroom remodel, and creating the space of your dreams. Now which style are going to go with? You want to have a plan before you go in there and start tearing everything out. What kind of bathroom vanity are you going to put in there, single or a double? If you’re going to get a new bathtub, which is highly recommended to give your bathroom that much needed facelift. There are modern bathtubs and antique style bathtubs, and both have their qualities.

If you choose a modern bathtub, you can get one that is built in to the corner of the bathroom and save space, or you can choose a freestanding model. There are great whirlpool tubs you can install as well, turning your bathroom into the oasis you’ve craved. If  you go with an antique bathtub, you will probably choose the popular clawfoot style tub or double sided bathtubs. Antique bathtubs are usually free standing, meaning that they are not built-in to the wall like many contemporary bathtubs are. If you get an antique style bathtub, you can get it with those wonderful modern upgrades, so if you want a clawfoot tub with whirlpool jets, you can get it! No matter what you are looking for your new tub to do, you can find the style and amenities you want because they’re out there!

So come up a design plan for your new bathroom and find what works for you. Think about what you want in terms of practical uses, and find bathroom furnishings that fit your personal taste. At the end of it, you’ll have a fantastic new bathroom to relax in everyday.

Quality Walk in Tubs Last Longer

October 16th, 2008

Do you like to save money? Sure we all do, but sometimes we find that saving money in the short term can backfire on us in the long run. I know I’ve had that happen before, where I went for the biggest discount first and swept quality aside, and then found shortly afterward that I had to replace the item again, because oftentimes cheaper made things just don’t last. When it came time to replace my old bathtub however, I knew better than to do the cheap route again.

I decided that I wanted to go with a walk in tub, because my husband and I aren’t getting any younger and the arthritis in his back is getting worse. I know that he loves a good hot soak, as do I, and walk in bathtubs are just made for people like us. We can just walk right into the bathtub, without having to balance and try and get up and over a tub wall, and I am looking at models with water jets, so that it’s even more therapeutic. Of course, finding the quality walk in tubs is my number one priority, because after we go to all the trouble of taking our old tub and installing this new one, the last thing we want to do is replace it in 2 years. Good thing we found Simply Bathtubs, because all of their tubs are top notch, and we got free shipping on our new tub.

Bathtub Liners Versus a New Bathtub

October 15th, 2008

In these tough times, we’re all scraping our pennies together and trying to save money. Some people are trying to save money on their home improvement projects or necessary home repairs, which can be a good and bad thing. For instance, if you have a bad looking tub that absolutely needs to be repaired, you may be tempted to just buy a bathtub liner instead of getting a new tub or doing a bathtub refinishing project. Bathtub liners are one of those things however, that sound good in theory but aren’t the best idea in the long run.

A bathtub liner is simply a molded piece of acrylic that you fit over your old bath tub. It will usually be nicer to look at than your beat up old tub, which is why you got it, but rather than addressing the problems with your old fixture, you’re simply covering them up. These bathtub liners are kind of like putting a pig in a dress…sure the dress may look nice, but it’s still a pig. The point is, it’s better to repair the problems with your bath tubs than simply cover them up. So whether you choose to take on the task of refinishing your tub yourself or just splurge a little and get that much needed new bathtub, good luck!

An Old Bathtub is a Waste of Space

October 11th, 2008

It didn’t occur to me what an important room the bathroom was until I moved into an old house, with an old bath tub. I started hating the bathroom, and never took baths anymore, which used to be something that I really enjoyed. It always helped me relax and just reflect back on the day, or sort out whatever was stressing me out, and not having one to enjoy really started bothering me after a little while. Since I have a small bathroom, I knew my choices would be limited, but I started shopping around, looking for one that I could afford and that would also fit, and I just hoped that I’d like it, at least a little bit, but that was at the bottom of my priority list. As long as it was new, and clean I knew it would do. Then I came across Simply Bathtubs, and they had a huge selection of well priced built-in and free standing bathtubs that I knew would be perfect for my home. I was so excited. When I decided on one, and had it shipped to me, I couldn’t have been more pleased with the process. Now I can enjoy my bathroom once again, and enjoy having some time to myself while I relax in my beautiful new bathtub!

Small Corner Bathtubs Are Quaint

October 10th, 2008

In my small condo, I find that doing home renovations and upgrades can be really time consuming and frustrating because only certain styles and pieces will even fit in my space, regardless of whether I like them or not. Oftentimes I’m forced into purchasing items just because I know they’ll fit, meanwhile they are the ugliest things ever. Like my clawfoot tub for example. It was wretched. So, when I finally had some money saved up, I knew it was time for me to get creative, and to be patient until I found the perfect tub for the room and my condo. I finally came across Simply Bathtubs, and was able to find a great selection of small corner bathtubs. They were beautiful AND they fit! I was so happy. Now, my bathroom is one of the focal points of my home, because it’s so unique and charming. The bathtub is amazing and I really love having a nice bubble bath after a long day at the office, or just because I want to.

Handicap Bathtubs Are Handi-Capable

October 10th, 2008

When I became a caregiver, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I knew I wanted to help people, and allow them to feel the same freedoms that we feel, and to help them never feel handicapped. I recently came across Simply Bathtubs selection of walk in bathtubs, which are great for handicap bathtubs. They offer my patients so much more freedom than without, and I feel so much more calm knowing that they are using a safe and practical bathtub. It has a door on the side, which can either swing inward or outward and you simply walk into the tub, and most have a bench for sitting. This helps my patients simply walk through the door, instead of heaving themselves up and over the side of the tub, which I have trouble with myself now and again. It is such a great solution to the dangerous scenario of pedestal or footed bath tubs. It has given my patients new hope and such a great feeling of confidence, knowing that they can do it themselves. It’s such a terrific idea, we should see more of these to come, I’m sure of it!
